EA sells for $55 billion
The Formula 1 video game and Need For Speed series custodian EA has been sold to private investors in a deal worth $55 billion.
The Formula 1 video game and Need For Speed series custodian EA has been sold to private investors in a deal worth $55 billion.
The transaction was mostly funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, which invests money on behalf of the Saudi state to prepare the country for when its vast oil reserves run out.
EA currently has the F1 licence through to the end of 2027, but it’s unclear whether this deal makes the likelihood of another agreement more or less likely.
