The Crew’s fan-made mod set to bring it back from the dead

Ubisoft controversially closed down The Crew’s online servers in 2024, effectively making the game unplayable for everyone who bought a copy - including those who purchased a physical copy.

Fortunately, a group of fans has created ‘The Crew Unlimited’, a mod that will make the game playable once again, and it’s set for release on the 15th of September, albeit on PC only.

It’s heartening to know that the racing game community can defeat egregious practices from publishers.
